Immunization Awareness Month: Protecting Our Community, One Vaccine at a Time

National Immunization Awareness Month

As August marks National Immunization Awareness Month, Libertana is taking this opportunity to promote the importance of vaccinations across all age groups, especially for seniors and school-aged children. Immunizations have long been one of the most effective public health tools available, preventing the spread of life-threatening diseases and protecting vulnerable populations.

For older adults, vaccines such as shingles, pneumonia, and influenza are essential to staying healthy and avoiding hospitalization. For children, immunizations ensure safe reentry into school and help curb the spread of preventable illnesses within communities. Our care teams are trained to help families navigate vaccine schedules, provide educational resources, and collaborate with primary care providers when needed.

Libertana’s commitment to public health includes equipping families with the knowledge they need to make informed choices. Through our CalAIM Community Supports and care coordination services, we advocate for access to preventive healthcare, including immunizations. This month, we celebrate the science, compassion, and community collaboration that keep our neighbors healthy and strong.
