Tuition Reimbursement Program Interview with Denise

At Libertana, we believe that quality education is one of the most important ways to invest in yourself. As an organization, to show our appreciation for our staff, we are constantly pursuing new ways to invest in our staff and their futures. In that spirit, we have implemented a Tuition Reimbursement program, which offers our incredible employees the opportunity to earn reimbursements for their educational pursuits. The Tuition Reimbursement program supports employees, their families, their communities, and the company – it is something we’re incredibly proud of and we hope that future Libertana employees will continue to take advantage of it.

Meet Denise, a CCA Care Coordinator, who applied for the program and expresses her gratitude for the opportunity.

How long have you worked at Libertana?

I have worked at Libertana for 4 years.

What are a few of your main responsibilities?

A few of my responsibilities as a CCA Care Coordinator are to enroll clients in the assisted living waiver (ALW) program, track when clients enter and leave our facility, send reassessments and applications to the state, and unenroll clients who are leaving the ALW program.

How did you hear about the Tuition Reimbursement program?

I heard about the Tuition Reimbursement program when our CEO Jonathan Istrin introduced it to the staff along with all of its benefits and requirements.

How has the Tuition Reimbursement program impacted you? Has it affected how you feel about Libertana? Has it helped support your personal finances?

The Tuition Reimbursement program has impacted me in such a great way. As a student who works full time and provides for myself in my own household, the tuition reimbursement has helped me obtain an education and fulfill my needs at home.

Do you think it’s important that employers invest in their staff’s education? Why?

Libertana has been my first employer that has invested in their staff’s education, which is greatly appreciated, and I am honored to be a recipient. I do not believe that it is required for an employer to invest in their staff’s education, but Libertana has been so generous, compassionate, and helpful to invest in my education.

How does it feel to have a company offer a program like Tuition Reimbursement? Does it make you feel supported as an employee?

When Libertana offers a program like Tuition Reimbursement, it makes me feel important and cared for. I was not expecting it whatsoever, so it did and continues to feel overwhelmingly supportive. I am forever thankful for the Tuition Reimbursement program.

Have you told colleagues who could qualify about the Tuition Reimbursement program?

I have definitely informed my colleagues who would qualify about the Tuition Reimbursement program. I have informed them of how helpful and supportive it has been. Of course, the number of people who are pursuing education while also working is very small.

What’s your favorite part about working at Libertana?

My favorite part about working at Libertana is the ability to service several clients within the assisted living waiver program and being able to support them and their families. I’ve also enjoyed working for such supportive team leaders and with colleagues who have great partnerships and unity.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I believe I have said it all, but I am continuously grateful to work at Libertana.
